Peter Marinello was born in Edinburgh and played for Hibs, Arsenal, Portsmouth, Motherwell, Canberra City in Australia, Fulham, Pheonix Inferno in the USA, Hearts and Partick Thistle in a career that ran from 1967 to 1984. He now lives in Bournemouth with his wife Joyce and coaches a youth team in Dorset.
Maggie McCune was born in Quetta, India, in 1942. Having attended boarding school in England she returned to India in 1962 where she met and married her husband; the family then came back to live in North Yorkshire. Maggie's career, apart from bringing up her four children single-handedly, has included a variety of jobs in schools, a fine art auctioneer and a publishing house.

Maura Murphy was born in Clonmore, County Offaly in 1928. She left school when she was 14 with 'no qualifications and fewer prospects'. She worked as a domestic servant in various houses in Dublin until she met and married John Murphy, a soldier stationed at Portobello Barracks. The couple moved to Birmingham, England in 1959 where they reared nine children. They have eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
