Merry Christmas: Midnight Snack cocktail

This flip-style cocktail is the perfect wintertime drink. The whole egg creates a wonderfully creamy texture and the combination of bourbon, port, almond and coffee make this the ideal cocktail for sipping next to a log fire.

1 egg
15ml (½fl oz) orgeat syrup (almond syrup)
15ml (½fl oz) Bittermens coffee liqueur
15ml (½fl oz) tawny port
45ml (3 tbsp) bourbon
Ice

GARNISH: GRATED BUTTER COOKIE
GLASS: COUPETTE

Place all the ingredients, except the ice, in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously. Top up with ice, then shake hard for 10–15 seconds. Double strain into a chilled coupette and grate a large piece of butter cookie on top.
